Creating a home for a family as a flipping project, we were tasked with transforming a two-story apartment situated in a contemporary residential building in the heart of Kyiv. Originally lacking in functional space but with the potential for re-planning, we designed the apartment to feature a spacious open-plan living area by incorporating part of the terrace, along with three bedrooms and three bathrooms.
The modern architectural design, characterized by predominant linear forms, is balanced by the softness of the furniture and a variety of tactile textures. The interior intentionally embraces a sandy colour palette to counterbalance the coolness of the northern daylight. We opted for neutral ceramic granite flooring, serving as a backdrop for the vibrant Patagonia stone, skilfully crafted by Ukrainian artisans, and harmonizing perfectly with the Flamed Sand Oak used for the kitchen cabinetry. A 70s-style Cierre sofa was teamed with a Minotti armchair and Poltrona Frau dining chairs, complemented by lively modern art pieces.
